Casey Klaus is a Media Manager and Non-Linear Editor at WLS-TV, ABC 7, Chicago. While enjoying the professional growth and challenge of overseeing the media on the servers as well as the editing department, Casey also strives to make every story he edits stand out in the newscast with solid visual story-telling, use of natural sound, and by utilizing the editing technology to the best of it's ability. Before becoming a Media Mananger/Editor, Casey shot and edited 'day of' and 'special segments' for WLS. Casey has traveled the country and world covering news events that have shaped American history. These stories include the war with Iraq from Kuwait City, the Opening of the 2000 Major League Baseball season with the Cubs and Mets in Japan, Presidential Elections from Candidate Headquarters, and the funeral of President Ronald Reagan. He has been with ABC for more than thirteen years and has been working in broadcast television for more than sixteen years.
Casey often volunteers his time and talents as a video producer for various Christian ministries he believes in. He desires to use his gifts to support ministries that care for people the way the church should. This also allows him the opportunity to work on projects different from what he does at his 'day job.'
Recently, he has also been focusing on his work as a still photographer and photo editor. He enjoys the similarities of framing, lighting, and capturing a moment in time, but is also having a lot of fun with the learning curve of the differences.
In his free time, Casey enjoys loving his fiance, SCUBA diving, and hanging with friends doing whatever. Casey is a fully devoted Christ follower who seeks to grow in his faith while loving the world around him. He lives in a northern suburb of Chicago with his dog Chumba, a Golden-Doodle/muppet.
